Three F(x) Ice Cream and Waffles - Made to Order Ice Cream

Actually there’s no fish in the fish. It’s called taiyaki, and it’s a stuffed waffle in the shape of a fish. Not only it is cute as a button, but it’s absolutely delicious. And that’s just one of the sweet treats on the menu at Three F(x) Ice Cream and Waffles on Baymeadows road near Southside Boulevard. Now that we’ve explained the mystery behind the “fish,” you’re asking, what’s with the funny name. The three “Fs” are for Fresh, Fruits and Fun. the “(x)” (remember Algebra?) is the unknown. You fill in the blank. You want a savory taiyaki for lunch? Not ready for dessert just yet? They actually stuff those fish-shaped delights with a beef frank and string cheese, or the breakfast option: ham egg and cheese.

The star-fish here, of course, are the dessert versions. Those waffle-fish can be stuffed with your choice of about 20 different sweet fillings, from peanut butter to Nutella to bavarian cream, or our favorite, sweet red bean paste.
And the ice cream is literally “made to order.” You choose whole, low fat or soy milk, they add the (all natural) flavors, and they sort of “quick freeze” it into ice cream by smoothing it over a frozen surface, and turning the delicious concoction over and over until, voila, it’s all natural ice cream. And it tastes like it, too. Better than the ice cream from-the-scooper at most of the other ice cream shoppes.

And if you order iced coffee, guess what the ice cubes are made of: coffee. And you add whatever flavored syrup you like -- too many to mention here. So the Fresh and Fruits -- you get it.
