Riverside Avondale Night Trolley Neighborhood Guide: Ladies' Night

The next time you’re planning a ladies' night out in the neighborhood, remember to use the Riverside Avondale Night Trolley. No more worrying about how many cars to take, the trolley can accommodate your group, whether there’s five or 20 fabulous ladies. The trolley runs the first Friday and Saturday of the month from 6 p.m. – 2 a.m.

Start your night by taking the trolley from your home stop to Resturant Orsay for Happy Hour. Half price oysters and cocktail specials make this upscale French restaurant the perfect meeting spot. Sip on the French Pear cocktail, the house infused pear vodka is expertly mixed with St. Germain, pear puree, pineapple juice, and sparkling wine, and will make your taste buds dance.

After a couple of drinks ride the trolley to Park and King and head to your dinner destination, Il Desco. This modern Italian restaurant on King Street might be new, but it is quickly becoming a neighborhood favorite. Order a round of the Il Desco meatballs to share, a delicious blend of veal and sausage meatballs over Congaree and Penn “Italian” grits. For your main courses don’t miss the scallop and mushroom risotto, and the duck sausage pizza.

Once dinner is wrapped up, hop on the trolley and make your way to Birdies in Five Points. A part of the Five Points area since 2009, this Jacksonville institution has a beautiful covered patio, dance floor, billiard tables, and an arcade table. All of this plus a full bar makes Birdies Five Points a quintessential Ladies’ Night stop. Dance your heart out late into the evening, but remember the trolley stops running promptly at 2 a.m., so makes plans to hop on before last call.
