One of the newest Nocatee communities in Ponte Vedra to come on line in 2014 will be “Twenty Mile at Nocatee.” It’s a rustic, old Florida feel community that will be comprised of several unique neighborhoods and amenities, each offering homes in a variety of types and prices, from the $200’s to over $1 million.

The first phase, slated to open in the fourth quarter of this year, will include three neighborhoods - Twenty Mile Village, the Pointe, and the Island. Like all those other lucky Nocatee homeowners, Twenty Mile residents will enjoy the grandeur of sprawling oak trees, split rail fencing and other unique rustic finishings.

The historic “Twenty Mile House,” is the community’s centerpiece. The house was once a military outpost, and in the 1700’s, served as a way station on the trail between Spanish St. Augustine and fortified St. Johns Bluff.  Spanish soldiers, mail carriers and travelers found food, rest and fresh horses here. The name “Twenty Mile” represents its location twenty miles north of St. Augustine and halfway to St. Johns Bluff and Fort Caroline.
