There's a small-town, rural feel to the Westside, with reasonably priced homes, many in rural areas, with large lots, big yards and natural unspoiled pine forests. Like Riverside and Avondale, the Westside is a well established community, and the line between the Westside and Riverside/Avondale does really begin to blur when you visit neighborhoods like Hyde Grove, Murray Hill, Lakeshore, Wesconnett, Cedar Hills, and Normandy Village. Along with these established neighborhoods, there’s Jacksonville Heights, Collins Road and Confederate Point. Most of the new construction is happening to the north, off of I-295 near the popular Pritchard Road and I-295 intersection. Developments like Panther Creek and Bent Tree are adding to the choices for Westside living, and the popular Beau Rivage condo on the river is a true Jacksonville landmark, the first upscale condo development of its kind on the west side of town.
