San Marco is one of Jacksonville's most eclectic areas to live in. There’s a fine selection of restaurants, bars, boutiques, bookstores, gathering places and gift shops that attract folks from all over Jacksonville. San Marco Boulevard and Hendricks Avenue are the two main arteries that run parallel through the San Marco district. On San Marco Boulevard just above Landon Avenue, there’s Landon Park and playground, fully equipped and spacious enough to bring crowds of the littlest San Marco residents outdoors on any given day to the tree shaded park. Since much of San Marco lies directly on the St. Johns riverbank, you’ll see everything from stately waterfront mansions to more charming, cozy and affordable bungalows, beginning just a block or two from the river, and extending east to the Southside area, north to Downtown and south to San Jose and Baymeadows. The neighborhoods of Spring Park, Miramar Terrace, St. Nicholas, Colonial Manor, and Englewood are located in the easternmost section of San Marco, and are prime places to find well-priced resales. There’s a great selection of Condos and Townhomes as well. The renovated low rise residences of East San Marco near San Marco Square, and the modern, high-rise city-view condos of San Marco Place, the Peninsula and Riverplace.
