It's been about 10 years since the 200-acre St. Johns Town Center in the city's Southside was established, and set the standard for what an upscale shopping destination in Jacksonville should look like. After a market slowdown, and a new full service Nordstrom's installed, the expansion that was always expected may now come to fruition.

Back in April, ICI Homes unveiled its pre-construction pricing in Tamaya, the new 2,400 home, master planned community about half way between Downtown and the Jacksonville Beaches. Much has been made about the cool Mediterranean style ICI Homes is known for, in neighborhoods like Palermo, and the [future] Siena development in Nocatee. What about location? That’s pretty unique as well. 
 
Neighborhoods like Wolf Creek, Jacksonville Golf and Country Club and Highland Glen are convincing high end Jacksonville Home buyers that you can live in luxury in what Jacksonville natives sometimes refer to (in the pejorative sense) as the “Southside.”  Every luxury development has its hook. In Ponte Vedra, there’s the beach. In Deerwood, the St. John’s Town Center, and Old San Jose and Palazzo in San Marco/San Jose make for a quick trip downtown. But where’s the happy medium?

It's the worst kept secret in Jacksonville. The French Pantry on Powers Avenue is unique because it depends solely on reputation and quality – no foot traffic, little to no signage, and nobody just drops in because they happen to be driving by. It’s only open from 11:00 to 2:00. It’s a luncheon destination that requires some planning, and though it lives up to expectations every time, it’s simply not designed for the “Type A” terminally impatient. Budget at least 90 minutes of your time and $15 to $18 of your money. There’s typically a 30-or-so minute wait in line. Is it worth it? If your constitution will bear it, the answer is yes, absolutely. It’s not for whiners. If you can just get over it, and get past the location and the logistics, it’s more than likely you’ll fully understand the allure, because the food trumps everything else.

Seasons 52 Jacksonville FL

With the Opening of Seasons 52 at the St. John's Town Center, Jacksonville joins Orlando and 19 other large metro areas where Darden Restaurants operates all of it's six brands: Red Lobster, Olive Garden, and LongHorn Steakhouse.  Operating under it's Specialty Restaurant banner are the Capital Grille, Bahama Breeze and Seasons 52.  Seasons 52 will open this fall, and in addition to it's seasonally rotated menu (hence the name), it's one of the few Darden properties that is "specialty-marketed" as a true venue for social and business events.
