Check out the Sounds of Summer this weekend at Nocatee.
Nocatee Home Sales increased 65% from 2012 to 2103.
The rising tide of great national press for Nocatee floats all of our boats here in the Jacksonville, St. Johns and Ponte Vedra real estate game. More good news this week, that the advisory firm RCLCO ranked Ponte Vedra’s Nocatee as number three in the nation for successful Master Planned Communities (MPC).
Nocatee was the only MPC in the top 5 that actually posted an increase so far in 2014.
New home sales in Nocatee for the first half of 2014 are up 21 percent over 2013, making it the 3rd best-selling master-planned community in the nation. In fact, Nocatee was the only MPC in the top 5 that actually posted an increase, with 505 homes sold since the beginning of the year.

Three F(x) Ice Cream and Waffles - Made to Order Ice Cream
Actually there’s no fish in the fish. It’s called taiyaki, and it’s a stuffed waffle in the shape of a fish. Not only it is cute as a button, but it’s absolutely delicious. And that’s just one of the sweet treats on the menu at Three F(x) Ice Cream and Waffles on Baymeadows road near Southside Boulevard. Now that we’ve explained the mystery behind the “fish,” you’re asking, what’s with the funny name. The three “Fs” are for Fresh, Fruits and Fun. the “(x)” (remember Algebra?) is the unknown. You fill in the blank. You want a savory taiyaki for lunch? Not ready for dessert just yet? They actually stuff those fish-shaped delights with a beef frank and string cheese, or the breakfast option: ham egg and cheese.
Old San Jose French Country Coach Homes
Back in the day, (way back), like in the 19th century, large country houses were erected on enormous country estates. It meant that the family had wealth, power, a lot of aunts uncles and cousins under one roof, and a huge budget for candles and coal. Then, farming took a hit with the industrial era. All that new fangled plumbing and electricity in the big city made these estates tougher to maintain, so they split them up. These separate flats within large houses were often referred to as "coach homes".
It’s 2013, and this style appears to be making sort of a comeback. At the new homes, upscale Old San Jose on the River, on San Jose Boulevard between San Marco and Lakewood, new coach home flats are practically as big as single family homes, like 1,985 to 2,100 square feet. Larger than your average new condo, for sure, but with all those lovely condo perks, like the pool, hot tub, and not having mow your 40-acre estate.
New Riverside YMCA exterior rendering
Back in October, the Claude Yates Family YMCA announced its “Riverside Y” project. Just last week, it got the go-ahead from Downtown Development Review Board (DDRB).
It’s official. The new, slick building will be right on the river (actually, on a park, on the river) between the St. Joe and Haskell Company buildings. You’ll have a fantastic view of the river, downtown and the Jacksonville Landing while you’re sweating on the stepper, bemoaning the locals there as they down their margaritas and chicken wings. But isn’t that why you’re shvitzing in the first place?
