Noodling Around Downtown: Try Pho. A Noodle Bar
Pho a Noodle Bar - Downtown Jacksonville FL
It’s new, it’s noodlely, and you can have it just the way you like it at Pho A Noodle Bar, now open at 117 West Adams Street downtown. (PS, it’s “fuh” like duh, not “fo” like go).
This savory Vietnamese soup is gaining traction in Jacksonville (Check out also Bowl of Pho in Baymeadows). It’s a simple, healthy alternative, appropriate for lunch or dinner, and Pho ePHicianados tell me that Pho A Noodle Bar is on par with the some of the best noodle shops they’ve experienced, including those in NYC, where there is a proliferation of “noodle bars” throughout the city.

A large bowl for 10 bucks ($8 for the smaller) is enormous, and you make it just like you like it. Add any combination of meats and vegetables and that enormous warm bowl of goodness is custom made. Add brisket to the beefy broth, or go for the Oxtail Pho, rare steak, tofu, or their seafood variation with shrimp, squid and mussels.

Of course there are more mainstream items to chose from, like the fried rice, stir fried and curried wok creations. Great apps like summer rolls, spring rolls and potstickers (these come to you in a very cool bamboo steam basket). But the star of this show is the soup. Try it. You’ll like it.
