Murray Hill, Jacksonville's Newest Historic Hotspot
Bordering Avondale and Riverside, Murray Hill should be on your radar. Packed with quaint Craftsman and Bungalo-style homes, it is a neighborhood with promising potential. While it’s streets have had a reputation of turmoil, the city has had a heavy hand in beginning to gentrify the area in the last few years and are determined to continue it’s growth.
Since 1932 The Murray Hill Preservation Association (MHPA) works hard to protect and preserve the area and also hosts a handful of events to draw in the crowds. One of the neighborhood’s best features is it’s community. It’s population is diverse and it’s small businesses are well known in the area; one in particular, Vagabond Coffee is local favorite who’s coffee beans are sold throughout Jacksonville. The Murray Hill theatre is a local landmark that boasts it’s historic roots.
