Best known for it's local charm, Murray Hill is a growing historic gem nestled in the heart of Jacksonville, located west of Avondale and riverside. Home to trendy restaurants and the Murray Hill theatre, residents can stroll down it's timeless downtown strip and enjoy a unique dining experience. In the 1930's Murray Hill's bordering street, Edgewood Avenue, became a busy business district, kickstarting it's charming appeal and diverse personality. In 1906 Murray Hill was officially incorporated as a town in Jacksonville. It's growth can be seen flourishing among the many small local businesses and business district (also an art hub) on Edgewood.
The Murray Hill Preservation Association (MHPA) hosted a Centennial Celebration in 2016 as a public art initiative featuring murals from local Jacksonville artists. Rich in architectural character, Murray Hill highlights a handful of Bungalow-style houses which reside on it's beautifully maintained streets.

While it’s streets have had a reputation of turmoil, the city has had a heavy hand in beginning to gentrify the area in the last few years and are determined to continue it’s growth.
